Softball Recap: Westfall's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Westfall had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 10-11 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Zane Trace Pioneers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Adrina Hicks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jill Butcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kenzie Cook was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Westfall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

As for Zane Trace, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Zane Trace's side, Haylynn Boggess-Pierce made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Audrey Minshall, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
