Football Recap: Channelview Comes Up Short

After soaring to 42 points the game before, Channelview was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clear Creek Wildcats. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Julian Aboytes threw for 72 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Elijah Marshall was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Darius Myles rushed for 67 yards.

Channelview now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Clear Creek, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Channelview will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Clear Creek, they are taking a road trip to take on Dickinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
