Basketball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bulls vs. Callisburg Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Bridgeport Bulls will jump right back in to play the Callisburg Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Bridgeport sitting on five straight wins and Callisburg on three.

While Bridgeport didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 73-68 W over Red River on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 668th, while the Rattlers are ranked 301st).

While Callisburg didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 48-43 win over Tom Bean on Thursday.

Bridgeport's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Callisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Bridgeport took their win against Callisburg when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a conclusive 87-64. Does Bridgeport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Callisburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
