Softball Recap: North Miami Wins Going Away Against North Judson-San Pierre

North Miami won the last time they faced North Judson-San Pierre and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors blew past the Bluejays 21-1. Considering the Warriors have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashley Sumpter-Music made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoey Sparks, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Hackworth, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

North Miami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Judson-San Pierre only posted an OBP of .286.

North Miami has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for North Judson-San Pierre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Miami will challenge Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will face off against Rensselaer Central at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
