Mineral County skates past Whittell with ease

The Mineral County Serpents won the last time they faced the Whittell Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Mineral County blew past Whittell 65-21 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Mineral County has managed all season.

Mineral County had a senior duo take command as DeVayne Isom scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals and Triston Jones scored 14 points. The match was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Wilson, who scored ten points.

Mineral County's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Whittell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coincidentally, Mineral County and Whittell will both be playing Smith Valley the next time they take the court. Whittell will host Smith Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Mineral County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
