Basketball Recap: Stilwell Indians vs. Poteau Pirates
The Stilwell Indians stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Poteau 66-32 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-19.
Snowda Watie continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Prairie Holmes, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Stilwell's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Poteau, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stilwell will take on the Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Locust Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games. As for Poteau, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
