Volleyball Recap: Oostburg Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oostburg can now relate to. They fell just short of the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Flying Dutchmen have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Oostburg took University School of Milwaukee into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 19-25, 17-25, 15-10.

Taylor Brasser paced Oostburg's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brasser got some help from Brianna Dana and her 22 assists. Soraya Benton controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Oostburg's loss dropped their record down to 22-14. As for University School of Milwaukee, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 17-6 record.

Oostburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University School of Milwaukee, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Laconia on the 25th.
