Softball Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minarets Mustangs. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Abby Bays and Lexie Valle stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bays went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Valle scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That triple marked the first that Bays hit this season.

Sierra's record is now 8-8. As for Minarets, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sierra is set to challenge their familiar foe Yosemite at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Meanwhile, Minarets will face off against rival Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
