Soccer Recap: West Point Comes Up Short

West Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Lafayette Commodores. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Commodores are ranked 18th).

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Lafayette, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

West Point didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 loss against Pontotoc on the 16th. As for Lafayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against New Hope on the 16th.
