Basketball Recap: Braeden Lucas Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

Lassiter hadn't done well against River Ridge recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lassiter Trojans walked away with a 63-52 victory over the River Ridge Knights. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Knights back in December of 2024, they had to take a 55-52 loss.

Lassiter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeden Lucas, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Wright, who posted 11 points.

Lucas wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lassiter was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Lassiter's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for River Ridge, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Lassiter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-39 loss against Sprayberry on the 28th. River Ridge has also already played their next contest, a 77-58 defeat against Riverwood on the 28th.
