Baseball Recap: Providence Day Wins Going Away Against Pro Stock Royals Academy

Providence Day came out on top against Pro Stock Royals Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Royals. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lawson Copeland tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Nelson, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Providence Day is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Austin Ward was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Providence Day hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Providence Day's record is now 12-10. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

Looking ahead, Providence Day will challenge Cannon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, they will take on Grace Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
