The Montverde Academy Eagles will take on the Foundation Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montverde Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Montverde Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Lake Minneola on Wednesday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 9-2.

Tyler Severs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).

Meanwhile, Foundation Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Bulldogs.

Joshua Ojeda was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Justin Salvati was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Montverde Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for Foundation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Montverde Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Foundation Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Montverde Academy suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Foundation Academy when the teams last played back in February. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
