Basketball Recap: Carterville Comes Up Short

Carterville played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 85-12 loss at the hands of the Nashville Hornets. The Lions have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Emma Rogers was Carterville's leading scorer, having posted five points. Maya Toliver held things down on the boards with three rebounds. Anna Booker took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Carterville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Nashville, their win was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Carterville and Vienna will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nashville, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greenville at 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025.
