After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodrow Wilson, Lakewood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cabrillo Jaguars an 18-0 shutout. Considering the Lancers have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Cabrillo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lakewood and Cabrillo will both be playing Long Beach Poly the next time they take the field. The Lancers will head out to face the Jackrabbits at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
