Football Recap: St. Paul Flyers vs. Crestview Cougars
If St. Paul was feeling good fresh off their 47-6 takedown of New London last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flyers fell 30-21 to the Crestview Cougars on Friday. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
St. Paul lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nicholas Pocos, who rushed for 99 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Casey Fries was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.
Liam Kuhn had an outrageously good game for Crestview as he rushed for 87 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also threw for 174 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 87 rushing yards gave Kuhn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayden Reymer, who gained 96 total yards and two touchdowns.
St. Paul now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Crestview, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Meanwhile, Crestview is set to challenge their familiar foe Western Reserve at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cougars 12.3, the Roughriders 10) so any points scored will be well earned.
