Basketball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Comes Up Short

Leading Edge Academy - GEC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arete Prep CHARGERS. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the CHARGERS from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Arete Prep was led to victory by Harrison Kremer and Crew Oetjen. Kremer went 8 of 15 on his way to 28 points and five boards, while Oetjen dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. The game was Kremer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Anthony Ponce was another key player, putting up five points.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Arete Prep, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leading Edge Academy - GEC will square off against Gilbert Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arete Prep, they will welcome BASIS Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
