The Mountain Home Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Centennial Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Home is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.4 runs per game this season.
While Mountain Home didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-17-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They never let Columbia get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Avery Blair made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Blair was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Orie Rau was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Mia Moreno also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Mountain Home kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Centennial posted their closest victory since March 22, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lakeland 13-11. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three contests in a row.
The team relied heavily on Cali Moorhouse ?26, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Avery Simpson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Mountain Home's record now sits at 4-1. As for Centennial, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mountain Home has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Mountain Home's sizable advantage in that area, Centennial will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mountain Home might still be hurting after the 25-4 loss they got from Centennial in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Mountain Home avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
