Baseball Recap: Broadwater Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Tidewater Academy

Broadwater Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Tidewater Academy Warriors 16-0. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 16-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Teddy Seybolt looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Aidan Fuller was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Eli Destro, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Broadwater Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tidewater Academy only posted an OBP of .318.

Looking ahead, Broadwater Academy will square off against Norfolk Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tidewater Academy, they will challenge Kenston Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Tidewater Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
