Softball Recap: Chowchilla Beats Le Grand for Their Third Straight Win

Chowchilla won the last time they faced Le Grand and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Tribe walked away with a 6-2 win over the Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Tribe sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ava Diaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brianna Guardado, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Chowchilla's record is now 14-9. As for Le Grand, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-7.

Coming up, Chowchilla will be playing in front of their home fans against Yosemite at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tribe are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Le Grand does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
