Softball Recap: Rimrock Raiders vs. Glenns Ferry Pilots
Rimrock had lost seven straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-13 to make it eight. They came up short against the Glenns Ferry Pilots, falling 18-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Glenns Ferry, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by seven runs or more this season.
For Glenns Ferry's part, Taylor Martinez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Martinez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Peyton Stewart was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since April 4th. Another player making a difference was Marlee Mason, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
