Baseball Game Preview: Southwestern Randolph Cougars vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Southwestern Randolph Cougars face off against Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwestern Randolph has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southwestern Randolph is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Randleman, falling 11-4.

Meanwhile, Eastern Randolph won against Chatham Central on Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Eastern Randolph skirted past Wheatmore 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 25, 2024.

Alex Kivett was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Will Stalker was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Eastern Randolph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Eastern Randolph's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for Southwestern Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Southwestern Randolph took their win against Eastern Randolph in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. Will Southwestern Randolph repeat their success, or does Eastern Randolph has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
