Volleyball Recap: Lookout Valley Yellowjackets vs. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots
Lookout Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots, falling 3-0. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
While Lookout Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-17.
Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amanda Gardner out in front who had seven aces, six kills, and four digs. Gardner is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brynne Burkhart, who had six digs and five aces.
Lookout Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Looking ahead, Lookout Valley will take on Tellico Plains at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on the 23rd.
