Basketball Game Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Green Mountain Rams

Conifer is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Standley Lake and fell 60-22. The contest marked the Lobos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Green Mountain on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew D'Evelyn out of the water with a 63-30 final score. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Jaguars are ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conifer better keep an eye on Simon Lunsford. He was instrumental in Green Mountain's win, putting up 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Lunsford a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Dixon, who posted six points along with seven boards and four steals.

Green Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Green Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Conifer, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
