Basketball Recap: Lyman Comes Up Short

If Lyman was feeling good fresh off their 61-21 takedown of Burke last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lyman Raiders took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gregory Gorillas on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 72-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Cole Serr had an outrageously good game for Gregory as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Serr a new career-high in points. Colt Keiser was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five boards and four blocks.

Lyman's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Gregory, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gregory beat Lyman by a score of 72-60 later that day.
