Football Recap: Snake River Falls to Homedale in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Snake River unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Homedale Trojans on Friday, falling 31-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 22-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Homedale had a senior duo take command as Xavier Uranga threw for 268 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt and Chance Martell picked up 140 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Martell showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snake River will face off against Sugar-Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Homedale, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gooding at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
