Softball Game Preview: James River Midlothian Rapids vs. Cosby Titans

James River Midlothian is 0-10 against Cosby since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. James River Midlothian will head out to challenge Cosby at 5:00 p.m.

James River Midlothian lost 18-1 to Monticello on Friday.

James River Midlothian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Metacarpa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cosby won against Powhatan last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Cosby blew past Monacan 9-3. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won five in a row.

Kam Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aislin Bossler, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

James River Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cosby, their record now sits at 2-0.

James River Midlothian might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Cosby in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can James River Midlothian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
