Softball Recap: Carroll County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Carroll County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Galax Maroon Tide by a score of 5-1 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cavaliers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory got Carroll County back to even at 4-4. As for Galax, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Carroll County and Galax could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Cavaliers (ranked 206th) will meet Floyd County (ranked 95th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Galax will take on Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (194 vs. 34).
