Basketball Recap: Tonasket Piles Up the Points Against Cascade

Tonasket was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cascade on Friday. The Tonasket Tigers breezed by the Cascade Kodiaks to the tune of 71-36. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Kodiaks are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tonasket's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tanner Tompkins led the charge by going 10 for 17 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Bradon Prock, who posted 17 points along with five boards and four steals.

Tonasket's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Cascade, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tonasket will challenge Liberty Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tonasket is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. As for Cascade, they will face off against Waterville at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
