Volleyball Recap: Cherokee Bluff Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cherokee Bluff, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Duluth Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2021.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cherokee Bluff was: they took both sets by at least 19 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-6.

Kailyn Williams was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had four aces and three digs. What's more, she racked up ten assists, the most she's had over her last five games. Molly Young also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Duluth, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cherokee Bluff has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Chestatee on the 21st. As for Duluth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Archer on the 26th.
