On Tuesday Preston Peebles pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The effort marked the fewest hits Peebles has had since back in March of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with less than one walk. This season, he has an ERA of 4.45 over 22 innings pitched.

Peebles' effort led Red Mountain over Mesa and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Lions are 9-1 against the Jackrabbits going back to April of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
