Baseball Game Preview: Cosby Eagles vs. Apostolic Christian

The Cosby Eagles will challenge Apostolic Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cosby has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cosby is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Austin-East with a sharp 25-16 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Cosby got a massive performance out of Gage McCarty, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave McCarty a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Tanner Barnes, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Cosby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Austin-East only posted a batting average of .333.

Meanwhile, Apostolic Christian lost 19-9 to Apostolic Christian Academy two weeks ago.

Cosby picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-17-1. As for Apostolic Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
