Basketball Recap: East New York Family Academy Skates Past Laguardia with Ease

East New York Family Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past Laguardia to the tune of 76-24 on Thursday. East New York Family Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 33 points or more this season.

Arianna Mercado was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-14 on her way to 23 points and eight steals. The game was her 17th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janaya Henderson, who went 6-for-8 en route to 15 points.

East New York Family Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Laguardia and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Coming up, East New York Family Academy will be playing at home against Curtis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguardia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
