Baseball Recap: Holy Ghost Prep Has No Trouble Against Central

Holy Ghost Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Central Lancers. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Killian McHugh looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Erik Nizio was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Eddie Rosado was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Holy Ghost Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Holy Ghost Prep back to even at 8-8. As for Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11.

Coming up, Holy Ghost Prep will take on Malvern Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Friars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Firebirds surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central, they will square off against Philadelphia Performing Arts at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Knight have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
