Baseball Recap: Western Beaver Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Western Beaver, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Rochester Rams on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Golden Beavers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Vincent Ross made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Chaffee, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Ethan Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Western Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rochester only posted an OBP of .118.

Western Beaver now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rochester, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Western Beaver beat Rochester by a score of 14-3 on Tuesday.
