Softball Recap: Sebastopol Makes It 21 in a Row at Home

Sebastopol's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Eupora Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

Savannah Crout spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marlee Smith was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Kadence Robertson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Sebastopol pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eupora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-5 record this season.

Sebastopol will challenge Meridian at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eupora, they will take on Pontotoc at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
