Marissa/Coulterville has gone 8-2 against Gibault Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Tuesday. The Meteors will take on the Hawks in a tournament  on Tuesday. Marissa/Coulterville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10  runs per game  this season.
Marissa/Coulterville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Steeleville on Monday. The Meteors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors  a   10-0 shutout. The  win continues a trend for the Meteors in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.
 The team  relied heavily on  Kennedy Trieb, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  double.  Reilly Reid was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Gibault Catholic hadn't done well against Valmeyer recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Pirates  7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Hawks have posted  since April 1, 2024.
 Gibault Catholic's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Ashley Murphy, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That  home run was  Murphy's first of the season. Another  was  Chloe Lancaster, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Marissa/Coulterville pushed their record up to 17-5 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Gibault Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Gibault Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Marissa/Coulterville has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 11  hits per game. It's a different story for Gibault Catholic, though, as  they've been averaging 9  hits. Given Marissa/Coulterville's sizable advantage in that area, the Hawks will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Marissa/Coulterville took their  win against Gibault Catholic  in their previous matchup  back in April by a conclusive  12-1 score. Do  the Meteors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
