Softball Recap: Valhalla Wins Going Away Against Valley Center

Valhalla made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valley Center, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Valhalla Norsemen blew past the Valley Center Jaguars 9-1 on Saturday. With that win, the Norsemen brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Natalia Marco and Preslee Fink did most of the damage at the plate: Marco went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Fink went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Fink a new career-high. Emma Sloan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Valhalla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Center only posted a batting average of .278.

Valhalla now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Valley Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Valhalla will square off against Patrick Henry at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Center, they will challenge Tri-City Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
