Basketball Game Preview: White Deer Bucks vs. Sanford-Fritch Eagles

The White Deer Bucks will take on the Sanford-Fritch Eagles in a tournament on Thursday. White Deer has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Sanford-Fritch will come in with four straight victories.

On Tuesday, White Deer didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Elliott and fell 41-38.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Foster Black, who posted 12 points and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Braxton Brown was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

While Sanford-Fritch didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Amarillo HomeSchool F 55-32 on Tuesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Sanford-Fritch's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for White Deer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

White Deer was taken down by Sanford-Fritch 84-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2015. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bucks were down 42-19.
