Volleyball Recap: Haxtun Comes Up Short

Haxtun lost against Sedgwick County back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Sedgwick County Cougars. The Fightin' Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Haxtun ultimately came up short, they really made Sedgwick County work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-9, 17-25, 25-15.

Jayleigh Bullard paced Haxtun's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bullard got some help from Bobbi Starkebaum and her 16 assists. Lilly Lemesany controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Haxtun's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Sedgwick County, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Haxtun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sedgwick County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Simla on the 2nd.
