MORENO VALLEY, Calif. -
Poly (Riverside, Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against
Canyon Springs (Moreno Valley, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 37-22 victory on Saturday.
The Bears put up 20 points in the opening quarter. Poly scored on a touchdown pass by
Chandler Drachslin, a touchdown pass by Drachslin to
Mitchell McLaughlin and a defensive touchdown.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Drachslin to McLaughlin in the first quarter, PHS was up 20-14 at the half.
The Riverside school saw its 6-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.
With the win the Bears extended their winning streak to four games.
Canyon Springs (3-2) will play a Inland Valley game against JW North next week, while Poly (4-1) will take on Rancho Verde also in a Inland Valley game.
