Volleyball Recap: Tarpon Springs' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Tarpon Springs came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Gibbs Gladiators by a score of 3-1. The Spongers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gladiators, too.

Tarpon Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Gibbs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jade Carter had 51 digs. Another player making a difference was Alyrah Johnson, who had nine digs and three aces.

Tarpon Springs' victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Gibbs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Tarpon Springs has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Countryside on the 1st. As for Gibbs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bayshore on the 2nd.
