Softball Recap: Unity Christian Falls Short of Escanaba in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Unity Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-0 to the Escanaba Eskymos on Tuesday. The Crusaders were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matchups prior), but the Eskymos' pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Unity Christian's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 20-3 record. As for Escanaba, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 25 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3 record this season.

Unity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Escanaba, they will challenge Richmond on Thursday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eskymos surely won't give up without a fight.
