Basketball Recap: Argyle Comes Up Short

Argyle was the 68-46 winner over Richland when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Argyle Eagles fell to the Richland Royals 57-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Royals are ranked 409th).

This is the second loss in a row for Argyle and nudges their season record down to 11-15. As for Richland, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.

Argyle will head out to take on Grapevine at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Argyle is facing Grapevine at the right time seeing as Grapevine is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Richland, they will take on Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Richland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
