The Crystal River Pirates will take on the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Saturday, Crystal River made easy work of Marathon and carried off a 9-3 win.
Crystal River got a great performance from Wyatt Lastinger as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Lastinger also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Pirates are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Cade Wentworth was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robby Sloan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mitchell's hitters rose to the challenge against a Hornets pitching crew that boasted an average of only four runs allowed on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on Weeki Wachee with a sharp 12-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.
Andrew LaMacchia tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Mitchell got a massive performance out of Drew Weinberg, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kyle Koslin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Crystal River's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Mitchell, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Crystal River couldn't quite get it done against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in March of 2016 as they fell 4-1. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
