Softball Recap: South Spencer Rebels vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers
South Spencer unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Evansville Memorial Tigers on Tuesday, falling 14-4. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.
Alexis Harris was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Drema Howe, who scored a run and stole three bases.
Evansville Memorial's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.
Coming up, South Spencer will be playing at home against Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Rebels' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
