Baseball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Union City's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Union City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Okarche Warriors by a score of 4-3. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 9-6 to the Warriors when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mason Baker was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Union City's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Okarche, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union City will challenge Thomas-Fay-Custer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Terriers at the right time seeing as the Terriers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Okarche, they will square off against Coalgate at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
