Softball Recap: Thomas Sumter Academy Comes Up Short

Thomas Sumter Academy was the 15-2 winner over Calhoun Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Thomas Sumter Academy came up short against Calhoun Academy on Tuesday, falling 18-7. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anna Luzzi made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lila Kate Stines was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Thomas Sumter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calhoun Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calhoun Academy beat Thomas Sumter Academy by a score of 16-1 on Thursday.
