Baseball Game Preview: South Pointe Stallions vs. Dreher Blue Devils

For the second straight game, South Pointe will face off against Dreher. The Stallions will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Pointe has nine straight wins, Dreher has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

South Pointe's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Dreher with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Ben Lee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lee was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Lance Whitaker was excellent, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden McClure, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

South Pointe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Pointe's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Dreher, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
