Basketball Recap: LKY Drops Season-High Score on Jeffersontown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LKY). They really took it to the Jeffersontown Chargers for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-35 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

LKY got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Simmon out in front who went 13 for 25 en route to 37 points. Simmon's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah McCartney, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

LKY was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

LKY has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.7 points. As for Jeffersontown, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LKY will head out to take on Ballard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jeffersontown, they are taking a road trip to square off against Francis Parker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
