Preview: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. Sheldon Huskies
Pleasant Grove is 0-10 against Sheldon since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pleasant Grove Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Sheldon Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Sheldon is ranked 104th).
Pleasant Grove pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 88-63 defeat at the hands of Franklin. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Pleasant Grove has suffered since December 7, 2023.
The losing side was boosted by Elijah Sykes, who scored 27 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Lionel Williamson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Sheldon didn't have too much trouble with Davis Sr. on the road on Friday as they won 71-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sheldon.
Pleasant Grove's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Sheldon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Pleasant Grove lost to Sheldon on the road by a decisive 83-66 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Pleasant Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
